"The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is the small car GM has been saying it will build for decades," says Inside Line. Two Ecotec engines will be available, including a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbo pushing out 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque that can be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. The standard engine will be a 1.8-liter four-cylinder making 135 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque; it will be offered with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox."
