We got to take a European model of the new Ford Fiesta out for a test drive at the 2009 Sacramento Auto Show. It was loaded with great features and handles well: if it had more leg room it would be a superb choice for tall people who want a fun yet economical choice (they claimed it would be reasonably priced and get over 40mpg).
